neXgro is currently in search of a Financial Accountant to join the Finance department within neXgro Group. neXgro SA is a transparent track and trace data Agtech company. The head office is in Krugersdorp, with satellite offices in Potchefstroom and Caledon. The group has a national footprint and provides a wide spectrum of grain-related services to producers and food processors.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Prepare and submit statutory returns, including VAT (all companies).
- Manage and respond to SARS queries and correspondence.
- Maintain compliance with CIPC and Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) reporting requirements.
- Prepare Actual vs Budget reports for company operating costs across all entities.
- Calculate interest on intercompany and external loans, processing of journals and reconciling of balances.
- Maintain and reconcile loan schedules.
- Administer market call accounts, including reconciliations, intercompany allocations, and journal entries.
- Calculate and maintain diesel inventory records.
- Prepare gross margin calculations.
- Process monthly intercompany administration charges.
- Process monthly intercompany expense recoveries.
- Process monthly intercompany fleet recoveries.
- Process monthly intercompany insurance allocations.
- Manage intercompany transport cost recoveries.
- Maintain intercompany invoice controls and prepare intercompany invoices where applicable.
- Manage monthly intercompany payments.
- Prepare and process monthly journal entries where applicable.
- Perform month-end close, period roll-over, and financial reporting (Trial balance).
- Manage weekly Head Office creditor payments and reconciliations.
- Process bi-weekly employee expense claims.
- Perform full-function accounting, including all accounting processes from transaction processing through to month-end reporting and reconciliations
Desired Experience:
- BCom degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of VAT and SARS compliance requirements.
- Experience in financial reporting and month-end processes.
- Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Evolution, Microsoft Business Central).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
