neXgro is currently in search of a detail-oriented and experienced Grain Grader to join our operations team. neXgro Grain Management is a trusted name in agricultural storage and logistics solutions. The head office is in Krugersdorp, with satellite offices in Potchefstroom and Caledon. We pride ourselves on delivering reliable, efficient, and quality-driven grain handling services to producers and buyers across South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform grain grading in accordance with the Agricultural Product Standards Act and applicable grading regulations.
- Accurately determine grain quality, including moisture, screenings, foreign matter, damaged kernels, and other grading factors.
- Sample incoming and outgoing grain according to prescribed procedures.
- Operate and maintain grading equipment, moisture meters and laboratory equipment.
- Record grading results accurately and capturing information on company systems.
- Identify grain quality risks and report any non-conformances immediately.
- Ensure all grain samples are handled, stored and retained according to company procedures.
- Assist with stock quality inspections and monitor grain condition during storage.
- Maintain a clean, organized and compliant grading laboratory.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety requirements and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards.
- Assist silo operations during intake and dispatch periods when required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric (Grade 12) essential.
- Qualified Grain Grader certificate (SA Grain Laboratory or equivalent).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ grain grading experience.
- Sound knowledge of grain grading regulations and quality standards.
- Computer literate (MS Office and grain management systems).
- Good numerical ability and accurate record keeping.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport will be advantageous.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends during peak harvest periods.
